Conceived during the Covid-19 crisis, The Quarantined Sommelier concept enables you to bring the sommelier to you.
The goal of the experience is to educate your palate in the different aspects of the art of wine tasting, and not to sell you any particular wine brand, or winery.

Fun and interactive, it includes four 750ml bottles of premium wine per household (2 whites and 2 reds)
and a live professional sommelier for 1h30m.

How does it work?

1 – Decide who is participating in the live wine tasting (number of participants
and total numbers of participating households).
2 – Select the package you would like to enjoy with them.
3 – Fill in the amount of guests and households.
For example, if 2 couples from 2 different households are taking part, please
select 4 guests and 2 households. We recommend up to 6 guests per
household for 1 set of 4 wines. 
5 – Fill out the delivery instructions

Jean Draillard

Jean our Head Sommelier comes from Provence, in the South East of France. 

Like all good Frenchmen, he has been raised surrounded by an abundance of fresh produce, delicious food and the very best wine. 

To live out his passion for gastronomy, he studied for 5 years at the Vatel Hospitality School and obtained his Master’s Degree in Hospitality Management. 

After several years working in fine dining and Michelin starred restaurants, Jean relocated to Australia where he rediscovered his passion for wine and decided to become a sommelier. He quickly became assistant Sommelier at Flying Fish restaurant in Pyrmont and climbed his way up to take the Head Sommelier position of the 3 goblets, 500 references, wine list. In April 2018 he passed his “Certified Sommelier Certificate” of the Court of Masters Sommelier, and today he manages the 3 goblets wine list at Manta Restaurant on Woolloomooloo wharf.

With passion, Jean enjoys sharing his love of wine, and making it comprehensible and accessible for everyone.
